Seeing my friends taking bad substance feel like trying too because they look cool, tasty n comfort in their taking.but I resist myself by moving away from their company at that moment of time.
ReplyDeleteI used to say that they are naughty. My thought was that it is the bad habits and feeling pity for them to and I try to avoid such friend
ReplyDeleteBack then watching peers and classmates be so bold and daring made me feel bad for them. I would try to tell myself to maintain my distance from them.
ReplyDeleteBack in those days it all seemed fun but at the same time I knew that it was wrong. So avoiding those bad habits was the best option.
ReplyDeleteTeenage years seemed to be full of funs but remembering those friends having such habits I feel pity for them. They lacked proper guidance from their parents, elders and teachers. Getting involved myself in some other activities, I tried to avoid such bad habits.
ReplyDeleteI should not do bad things they will spoil my life. This is my thought
ReplyDeleteDuring teenage i do have friends who have such bad habits, i never ignore them because they are my friends , but what i did is making myself strong that i should not get involve in such habits.
ReplyDeleteIt is better to be alone than to involve in such bad habits. This is how I thought during teenage.
ReplyDeleteGetting influenced by peers in a group sometime make us do things unintentionally just to look cool and accepted in the group. At first it feels normal and adventurous for adolescent to do or go the wrong way.But as soon as you get caught feeling of shame, guilt, fear of punishment all these crept in.These feelings when directed in a positive way helps us to avoid bad habits.
ReplyDeleteTeenage life is one of the most crucial period in a person's life. Going down the memory lane, to see some friends and classmates involved in these bad and harmful habits makes me wonder their guts and audacity.
ReplyDeleteBut I used to think maybe there is a reason behind their actions.
When some students would report to the teachers about such deeds I would really feel pity but at the same time very glad to see that the culprit learns his/her lesson so as to not repeat the same.
Teenage life is like a rollercoaster, we have to go through both the ups and downs to realise how to overcome the challenges and to let go of what is not acceptable.
I was never judgemental!! Always an Empath.I thought they were more enterprising than me. Being loyal to friendship… I never cut myself out of the circle.Instead chose to swim along but never drowned 😊 We learned in the process.Life is a mixed bag…The Choice is yours and yours alone🙌🏻
ReplyDeleteAs an adolescent I had somewhat admired the boldness of my peers who got into smoking or had bunked classes, etc. I thought they were cool but had always restrained myself from getting into such habits because at the back of my mind I always knew that such behaviour is not desired.
ReplyDeleteAs I was always guided by my father about substance abuse. I always tried to avoid those friends who were into it.
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage days I fully avoid bad habits.
ReplyDeleteTeenage years are the most crucial periods of one's life. Fortunately , I was surrounded by a group of well behaved, good mannered, self esteemed friends who left a positive impression in my mind and helped me to achieve the goals of my life.
ReplyDeleteReflecting back to my teenage years I realised I was naive, scared and unaware of many consequences.Seeing some of my friends falling prey to bad things which affected theirs lives later. I was scared and unable to do anything to help them .
ReplyDeleteAll I had to do was stay away from those bad influencers.
My only thoughts and feelings at that time was that I'm privileged not to be part of their company.
My only strategy then was avoid their company and never fall into their traps knowing that as a teen I'm not strong enough to stand up for my right.
Reflect back to my teenage I remember when I tried to steal but now I realise that these thing will ruined my life in the future
ReplyDeleteAdolescence period is a time when we want to try out everything but seeing all those activities done by others I always thought to myself that I have to keep myself away from such activities and never indulge myself in it.

ReplyDeleteI should not do bad things they will spoil my life,it is better to be alone than to involve in such bad habits. This is my thought during my teenage.
ReplyDeleteAs a teenager I was, off course, surrounded by cool friends who did the cool stuff. I was tempted to try a bit of this and that, just to fit in, but I was too scared to do so. Although I never showed any disgust or tell my friends what they were doing was wrong, I continued being part of the group. I thought that they were being foolish and felt the need to tell them to stop. My only strategy was to be in their midst without judgement but never to participate in any of the cool things they did.
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to think back to my teenage I remember there is a time I get influence by my friend to smoke to look mature but after I am understand the situation of smokers I left it so not to regret
ReplyDeleteDuring teenage years, I used to think that I should not try to do the bad things like my friends
ReplyDeleteGoing back to those teenage years, I recollect some friends who were very much into bad habits. Though I may be in their company, they never persuade and influence me. We respect each other and remain friends.
ReplyDeleteInstead of showing them what is right and wrong, I used to feel that I was too young for doing that.
But Prayer was my only strategy as a teenager to prayed for my friends.
Seeing my friends doing mischievous things sometimes i join them just to be a part of the group and not to be left alone,..... and sometimes I move away from them as I'm scared of being caught by teachers and parents I never said anything to them I'm concerns of being left alone
ReplyDeleteAm trying to avoid friends with them and giving some suggestion that consumption of tobaco or taking drugs ia a bad habits..
ReplyDeleteI havea friends who used tobacco, do everytime she eats, she offered me also.... times pass by...everyday we were together..and one dsy all of a sudden she said... I have been offering you tobacco everyday but u never take..now I understand even I will stop taking it...
ReplyDeleteI am saying that these are all the misleading practice and should be avoided. So what we have to do is abstain and completely avoided from all bad habits which provides no benefit at all.
ReplyDeleteWhen i was a teenage ; my friends used to have tobacco my parent never encouraged us to take and i know it was bad ,once i was offered by my friend and i faced a peer pressure so i took in a small amount and I couldn't take it . I passed out and since then they never offered me again .
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage years I always avoid all bad habits which provide no benefits at all
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage years I never get involved myself in such activities but witnessed my classmates(boys) taking substances and felt bad for them and tried to show them the reasons of its ill effects. Looking back now I realized that teenage years is a very sensitive stage where family, friends and whole environment plays a major role in shaping an individual.
ReplyDeleteWe need to approach sympathetically, and find more time to have friendly discussion and fond out the real issues and problems faced by him.
ReplyDeleteRecalling our childhood is fun. We were proud to go in a group. However, what ever the majority is doing in the group is accepted by all. May the module was right when it says that we were afraid to be out of place in the peer groups. Most often we develop bad habits like smoking fron the group.
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage years, I was being influenced by my friends to do so many things which are unacceptable, but i am so grateful that i have parents who always guided me in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteTeenagers learn more from peers than teachers and parents.

ReplyDeleterecalling my teenage friends who are eating tobacco but I stay strong not follow them and I did not ignore them because they are not forcing me to do so
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage,I was surrounded by good and well-behaved friends. If my friends have these kind of substances, I'll try to convince them, that they are bad for our health.
ReplyDeleteThose were the years where now i laugh back at sometimes. How did i react to the situation? I acted like i am a pro, so that they don't think that i'm new to it. What were my thoughts and feeling and strategies. Well thoughts- i have to look good and know what i'm doing, feelings- I felt like a grown-up and adult at the moment, strategies- do it it like i know what i am doing, like a pro.
ReplyDeleteWe all know that stealing money, taking drugs will lead us to nowhere. If my friends are going in the wrong direction, I'll talk to them first and will try to solve their problems. I will guide and show them the right direction.
ReplyDeletewell, very tempting to follow them yet managed to escape and helped them too by engaging and involving them in other activities .....spotts & games...
ReplyDeleteGood adviser and good councellor must be needed for the Teenagers.

ReplyDeleteFriendly with the Teenagers, so that they can share their problems
ReplyDeleteDuring my teens I had few friends who were involved in such bad activities. Sometimes it was tempting but I stay away fearing of parent and teachers. Looking back those days now I realize proper guidance and counselling would help them to overcome those behaviour.
ReplyDeleteOn seeing my friends indulging of taking intoxicated substances or stealing money I urged them to refrain from all these by giving different examples and finally I discoved they realised after all
ReplyDeleteDuring teenage problems have to share with parents
ReplyDeleteI should not involved in such bad habits. This is my thought.
ReplyDeleteTo avoid any negative I
ReplyDeleteImpact on me, I will disconnect myself from them. And at the same time I may involve myself in gaining some skills that may help me in my life.
During teenage I did have friends who had such bad habits like chewing tobacco. I did feel like trying it out but at the same time I was afraid of my brother and parents, so I just maintained my distance from these friends.
ReplyDeleteTeenage life is quite an adventurous and risk taking life. It's the most experiential life too. Chewing tobacco, puffing paper cigarettes were some of the things that I remembered doing. They were wrong things to do but like every teenage there were peer pressures too. But eventually I got over most of the bad stuffs with determination and positive thoughts.
ReplyDeleteTeenage years are the best years to be treasured.. When I saw my friends indulging in negative behaviour.. I had no comments as its time and it will pass off soon.. Its just learning to be a better person through experience.. I do not ignore them or join them in their activities.. Am friendly and remain neutral.
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage years I had friends of every kind good and bad but I always choose good friends
ReplyDeleteTeenage years are very crucial...at that point of time seeing my friends involve in bad habits is very tempting so as to get people' s attention. On the otherhand I'm afraid of my teachers and parents so I advice them to refrain from such behaviour as these will affect our studies and our career too.

ReplyDeleteTeen age years are those years that must be handled with great care. Thanks to my parents who kept reminding me of bad habits and to stay away from them as much as possible that leads me to become a better human and a teacher as well. Although most of my friends fall on those stuffs yet I am happy i passed that stage with ease and no bad impression on myself and my surroundings.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of those years in college, I felt that I was the lucky guy for not using drugs, not even to try it, though some of my roommates of two years were drug users. The reason for this was my ability to distinguish what's right and what's wrong, and with God's grace I am glad to what I am today.
ReplyDeleteWhen i tried to recollect my teenage years , i remember i would restrain my self in indulging those bad behaviours and habits ... I usually feel pity for them because they lack proper guidance from family members and the people who sorround their life .

ReplyDeleteRunning down the memory lane I remember exactly how I felt, like any other adolescent I was anxious, confused, hyper, energetic, seeking peer acceptance,etc.,. And in that confused state of mind, like any other naive adolescent, i also fell under peer pressure and had the first taste of the bud. Even though I knew what I was doing was wrong, still did not hesitate to have that first puff of smoke. As time went by, friends circle changed but the bud stuck with me and had a hard time quitting it.
ReplyDeleteTeenage life is one of the most crucial period in life. I see those who involved in bad and harmful habits makes them spoil and misery because of lack guidance from parents side, elders and teachers. So, my point of view is that those who are involved such habits should give up so early.

So definitely I did encounter peers with unhealthy habits and often pressured into taking part in all bad habits I'm glad I did have a good bunch of friends who are able to steer me away from all these bad influences and also having responsible teachers and adults to guide me helped a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe best way I find to prevent oneself from indulging in all these negative habits is simply to avoid or stay away from it
Thinking back on those days, i think I asked my friends to stay on the corridors after every class so that when the next teacher comes to class, we would run.... and everytime we would sit at the back just to sleep so Those were the best times as a teenager... Being able to rebel against our teachers.... But eventually, we grew out of those habits and learned the lessons....
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage years, I remembered that there was time that my friends tried to convince me with to do things which will hurt others people, but strong will and determination could not succeed.
ReplyDeleteDuring teenage, we were not matured enough to decide what is what, and we were guided by impulse. Hence, we used to follow the wind without knowing the impact or consequences.

If I were to have had friends going through such a phase, instead of avoiding them completely I would instead try and lead them out of the dark situation they were in. I think that when it comes to friendship, we have an unwritten duty towards each other to be there for one another and accept each other. No matter the circumstances and hardships.

Fear of being caught by the teachers is there but saying no to friends is not in the mind because we don't want to hurt them and we are afraid of being left alone .Since we are all afraid of being caught and punishment we are able to do away with that bad habit.

Moreover, when we were teenagers morals and values instilled in us were strong enough to deter us from doing wrong
ReplyDeleteTeenage life is a very crucial period. I have seen a few of my peers fall prey to the negative habits and addictions. However being educated in a convent was useful as we were very protected and my family too always had open discussions on how to go about life without following others blindly.

ReplyDeleteAs a teenager, I and my friends were under strong spiritual influence from an organisation, where our parents preferred we go rather than go anywhere else in our free time. Ofcourse we went there primarily to play, but often received spiritual lessons from the ordained inmates of the organisation. So, we never did any of the seriously dangerous acts like smoking or taking drugs or stealing money. I see today the need for a strong spiritual base at a young age to become conscientious citizens in later life.
ReplyDeleteAs a teenager, I was a quiet, timid and shy girl who always stayed out of trouble. But I was once pulled by my bold and over-the-top loud friends to go with them and to steal 'chana' from a chana vendor who always stood outside our school gate. I tried to talk them out of it but it was absolutely futile. We surrounded him and at one go grabbed the varieties of chanas in our hands and fled back to the classroom. My friends celebrated as if they had won a trophy..while I sat down shocked at what I had done, but dared not say a word to my friends for fear of being ridiculed by them. I felt so very disgusted and ashamed of myself. I was filled with remorse.
ReplyDeleteI went home and told my parents , and requested them to give me extra pocket money so that I could pay the vendor for his loss. My parents too were stunned !! They could not believe I was capable of such an outrageous act. I was scolded harshly at first but followed by sound and gentle counselling.
The next morning, I went to school earlier than usual and went straight to the vendor. I apologized to him and paid for the chanas we had stolen ( I never ever told my friends about this ). The vendor smiled and blessed me as he took the money...and I felt a huge boulder removed from my chest. I still cringe whenever I remember the episode.
