Course 10- Activity 1: Share Your Ideas
Considering your classroom practices, state three ways in which you conduct several assessment practices? Are these practices planned, designed and implemented by yourself or are these structured at different levels and assigned to you by the school authorities or board of education? Suppose you want to change these existing assessment strategies then suggest an alternative way you plan and implement on your own and it is not directed from the higher authorities.
We as a secondary school teachers try to follow the directions of the board as well as we use creative activities which can develop the students capabilities. The school gives the freedom to exercise to fulfill it.
ReplyDeleteWe try to follow the directions of the board and we also use creative activities which can develop students capabilities
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and we use creative activities which can develop students capacities
ReplyDeleteAs a Teacher of the Secondary Section, we have to abide by the the structure of curriculum given by the MBOSE as plan our activity of teaching as per the instructions given by the Board. But having said so, I go beyond the realms of conventional teaching and the three methods which I generally incorporate are:
ReplyDelete1. Apply pedagogical aspects of teaching by telling the students to read out loud and asking the other students to amplify the content of the loud reading.
2. Secondly, I organize language and literature seminars to objectify the theme of the lesson and inculcate the spirit of active participation of all the students.
3.Thirdly, with a limited time frame, assessment assignments are given and checked to see the level of creativity among the students and this method is quite productive in teaching- learning practices.
Given the opportunity, I would overhaul the whole quote and rote or commit and vomit system of education by incorporating career oriented education system where right from Class- VII, students are taught in the subject that they would like to specialize on.
In our school, we mainly use two types of assessment, one is formative(unit test, class test etc) and the other is summative( final exams as well as Board Exams).
ReplyDeleteWhat is want to do is to conduct more creative activities so that students can benefit from"Learning by doing".
Hello ,we mostly follow the directions given by the board but also give certain assignments of their standard on our own
ReplyDeleteIt is a hightime to implement SBA for the betterment of the students, to assess by self and peers
ReplyDeleteBoard pattern is followed, class test, assignments and project work is also some of the adopted means.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and we use creative activities, giving assignment, unit test ,class test etc for students benefits.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and we use creative activities like test to enable the students learn better
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions from the board and we try to incorporate creative activities like class test, projects and other group activities to enhance learning.
ReplyDeleteAs far as possible we try to follow the directions given to us by the boards for proper functioning
ReplyDeleteour school follow the direction of the board and conduct more creativity and activities for students
ReplyDeleteThere are two type of assessment being followed in our school ,one is formative(unit test, class test etc) and the other is summative( final exams as well as Board Exams).
ReplyDeleteThese structured at different levels and assigned to us by the school authorities.
We follow the direction of the board, use creative activities by project works, presentation in group of the subject topic after discussion, assignment, class test.
ReplyDeleteWe as secondary school teachers try to follow the directives given by the board but at times we also use our own creative activities to assess the students at various levels of teaching and learning.
ReplyDeleteBoard direction is followed, Unit test , class test and project work is given to the Students to assess the learning outcomes.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of board
ReplyDeleteWe follow board instructions to acess the learning outcomes of the students
ReplyDeleteWe usually used two type of assesments ,: formative and summative assesment.
ReplyDeleteBoard guidelines are being followed...we have formative as well as summative assessments in our school...along the way creative assessments, project works are being done for enhancing student's learning.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board ,also we.conduct creative activities, assignment, class test.
ReplyDeleteDirections of the Board is be being followed and other creative methods of assessing are also incorporated.
ReplyDeleteI follow the Board pattern of assessment,
ReplyDeleteWe are following traditional way of assesment. Even our teaching is syllabus centred and examination centred. Sometimes we do assesment in the form of class tests and unit tests.
ReplyDeleteOccasionally, we assess the understanding level of the students on our own way by allowing students to discuss and participate in the process.
Trying to follow according to syllabus, Assessments are also prepared according to school academic planning, oral tests, class test like monthly test or tests when each chapter is completed, assessment through active performance of students like sports and games, disciplines, punctuality etc. are also done.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the school academic plans assigned by the school authority.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, as prescribed by the Board of education.
But in addition, we do conduct other assessments in the form of quiz, oral test, group/individual assignments and other forms of creativity to check on the learner's outcome.
Besides the assessment practices structured and assigned by the board of education, I plan, design and implement my own assessment practices to suit the learning capacity of my learners. I use the first three forms of assessment: pre- assessment, assessment for learning and assessment of learning. I design topical questions for pre- assessment, I use a lot of brainstorming and think-pair-share for AFL, and we have the school and board conducted tests and exams for AOL. I am encouraging my learners to ICT usage by assigning small research projects to assess their learning skills and capacity.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the instructions of the board and conduct formative and summative assessment
ReplyDeleteWe fellow the direction of the board and conduct formative and summative assessment.
ReplyDeleteWe have to follow the board assessment method but if I got the chance to innovate new method I would like to have a formative assessment after the completion of every unit.
ReplyDeleteBesides the practices structured by the Board which is AOL oriented , I develop, plan and implement my own assessment practices for AFL in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteI incorporate brainstorming , think pair share, team pair solo, mind mapping and collaborative learning sessions for my class pertaining to different topics learners learn everyday.
Connecting my class through Blended mode I am able to assign learners with simple task which is topic related to assess their conceptual understanding and learning skills, using project based and inquiry based assignments.
To me these practices have proved to be yielding as the learners have learned to take up responsibility and work collaboratively to any tasks assigned to them in class both online as well as offline.
Abide by the rules and curriculum designed by the board itself and do assigned assessment designed and relate with the syllabus.
ReplyDeleteAssessment is one of the important part of teaching- learning process. As a teacher of Mathematics, for the Summative Assessment I follow the guidelines given by the School administration as we have term ends examination and also Board Examination. Apart from this for the Formative Assessment the three techniques that I follow are
ReplyDelete1) Questioning the students during the lesson transaction.
2) Conducting Seminar on the topic taught.
3) Giving Assignments to the students
Apart from these three Assessment technique, I do follow other techniques depending on the demand of the lesson and the situation.
If given the opportunity to change the Assessment technique, I would adopt the system where the concept of rote memorization is removed enabling the students to know the lesson deeply by grasping the important concept of lesson and also applying it in daily life situation....
Assessment in classroom practices are conducted in the form of questioning and answering - teacher to student or in some lesson: students as peer, question other student , and also presentation by student on specific topic after lesson taught, use of flowchart ... some flexible and comfortable ideas are used to assess students that are not from authority.
ReplyDeleteBut there are also Assessment practiced according to the directions given by the board.
group use creative activities by giving project works, field trips, project work in the form of presentation in group of the subject topic discussion, assignment, class test.and unit test
ReplyDeleteOur school follow the direction of the M.B.O.S.E and for the betterment of student 's performance we used to conduct class test, unit test, project work, selection test and pre- Board examination.
ReplyDeleteWe are bound by the direction of the board, and use creative activities by project works, presentation in group of the subject topic after discussion, assignment, class test.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and we use creative activities, giving assignment, unit test, class test etc for students benefits.
ReplyDeleteFormative and summative assessments are being used in our school.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board at the same time, for the betterment of student 's performance, giving them assignments, unit tests, class tests etc
ReplyDeleteWe follow board instructions. Besides exams and tests, occasionally we have test where the answers are evaluated by students themselves on the work of their classmates.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions given by the board. Also we assess the students by conducting class test, term exams etc
ReplyDeleteBoard pattern is followed, class test, assignments and project work is also some of the adopted means
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions given by the board and conduct Formative and summative assessment.
ReplyDeleteAs secondary teacher...we followed the directions given by the board
ReplyDeleteBesides following the guidelines given by the board, we try to use other methods also.
ReplyDeleteIn our institution, we normally access student's learning on the basis of memory, skill and application based questions in both theory and practical. This method is designed by the authorities. I would like to have more activity based assessment.
ReplyDeleteDirections and guidelines of the Board are being followed.i conduct formative assessment to get continuous feedback with the help of open ended questions, assignments project work sometime class test, I use brainstorming activities along with the other forms of creativity and we have summative assessment (final exams)
ReplyDeleteWe follow the direction of the Board. We also conduct class test, assignment and unit test
ReplyDeleteBesides the existing Board Assessment, alternative strategies may also include Rubrics, self assessment and brainstorming.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the direction given by the board. We also conduct class test, giving assignment, project work etc for students' benefits.
ReplyDeleteAs secondary school teachers we follow the directions of the board. But at the same time we give our students a lot of project work, class tests, home assignments for their all round understanding and development.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the direction given by the board and conduct formative and summative assessment.
ReplyDeleteWe try to follow the direction given by the Board ,followed by class test, assignments and project work is also given to the students .
ReplyDeleteOften we rely on tests to measure students's understanding and then we move on. There isn't always time to address weaknesses and misunderstandings after the tests have been graded, and the time to help students learn through strategies to ask great questions is gone.
ReplyDeleteHere's are some strategies that I would definitely try to implement in my classroom:
1. Open - ended question that gets the students writing/ talking instead of just a mono syllable 'yes' / 'not response.
2. Formative pencil- paper assessment- where individual progress is monitored. Both the students and teachers can quickly assess whether the students acquired the intended knowledge and skills.
3. Separate what you do and don't understand- students will often know more or less than they can identify themselves, which makes this strategy crude. But thats okay- the goal isn't for them to be precise but to gain insight on their capabilities.
This way it will definitely be an excellent starting point for students to even begin to articulate on their own.
The common ways practiced are: Classtest, unit test, project works, assignments and semi annually examinations. These are planned and directed by the authorities and board education.
ReplyDeleteAlternative plan is to evaluate on a weekly basis by means of written/oral test for only about 15 - 20 minutes per subject.
I follow different ways of assessment like exit slip, 1 minute essay, test, asking questions etc. I plan these activities and also follow the pattern set up by the board.
ReplyDeleteAs teachers while assessing the students we follow the guidelines of the board in both the assessment procedure: The formative and the summative evaluation.
ReplyDeleteBut if given the chance to change the procedure of assessment I will like to discontinue this rote method of examination, the students just cram, memorize and vomit it out in the exam papers. There is no learning in the long run. This method pose a problem for the bright and gifted students as it reduce the their chance to think in a creative way.
Assessment should be helpful for students in their real practical life not only in the theoretical.
The three assessment practices conducted are test, assignments and examination to assess the understanding level of the students. As teachers we follow the practices assigned by the board of education.
ReplyDeletefollow the board procedure assigned to us
ReplyDeleteAssessment is being done formatively and summatively through test, assignments and exams. Exit slips, one minute essay etc are also done to check students understanding. Boards pattern is also followed for assessments
ReplyDeleteFirst we follow the directions given by the board, after followed different activities
ReplyDeleteThe three ways in which we conduct assessment are project works, unit test and examinations. These are structured and assigned by the school authorities or as per directions of the Board.
ReplyDeleteBesides the above,we also incorporate our own creative activities to assess the students like group discussion, quiz, assignments, questioning the students during the lesson transaction, etc.
Apart from the directions by the board and school, I try to assess through brainstorming, quiz (based indirectly on the topics taught), word games etc.
ReplyDeleteWe as teacher of secondary stage we follow the direction and the rule given by the board and when there is enough time we conduct several test to know the knowledge and understanding of student
ReplyDeleteWe have to follow our board and school directive. But we are free to assess our own assessment. 1) I make the students discuss and debate by making two groups.2) Try to give mcq so that they read the whole chapter. 3) I used tell the students to explain what they have understood.
ReplyDeleteWe have to follow our board as well as school directive.. But at the same time giving students assignment and unit test from time to time.. Though this is for this covid time, in future when situation becomes normal or as we move to the new normal Im planning to ask the students to prepare semi presentation (board and chalk).
ReplyDeleteThe latest trend to oppose the ongoing system of education as 'rote learning' or 'vomiting the learnt content' is highly condemnable as in that way we show disrespect to our teachers & mentors bcoz of whom we are what we are today. If we are educated enough we will know that even the great inventors of science had to learn ,memorise the contents of their choice to recreate new ideas & concepts. So all of us must agree with the fact that without remembering or memorising we will turn into mad people in no time & give rise to a civilisation full of forgetful people of vested interests creating havoc all around. This recent trend of online practice everywhere is ruining the habit of committing to memory which will have serious consequences in future. What i find is that
ReplyDeletea vast majority of students are moving away from the regular learning habits & getting indulgence in promoting unhealthy habits like cheating online & being irresponsible.
So what i intend to promote among my students , i hope is clear to all by now.
It is always learning at first & contributing later. Any new system is always welcome provided it does not interrupt the process of learning in which 'committing to memory' is a very important component.
Assessment is an important tool that helps teachers know tge learning outcome of students. In our school assessment is in 2 types.Formative Assessment which include Oral tests, written tests, project works, assignments, group activities etc.Summative Assessment includes terminal examinations. The assessment method is planned and designed by the Principal and the teachers at the beginning of each academic year following the guidelines set by the state board.
ReplyDeleteBoard directives are followed.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the board pattern and formative and summarise assessment to access the learning outcomes of the students .
ReplyDeleteAssessment is being done formatively and summatively through test, assignments and exams to know the knowledge and understanding of student.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and also give them assignment, unit test class test , project work,to evaluate the understand and development of the students.
ReplyDeleteFollowing the direction of the Control Board and assessment should be done to students for bringing the successful outcomes.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions given by the board and assess the learning ability through oralQuestions-answers sessions in the class room and test and written exams do helps.
ReplyDeleteWritten Exams, Unit test, Project Work, Assignments, oral questions etc
ReplyDeleteWe follow the instructions given from the board and also give project work and assignments to assess the teaching and learning process.
ReplyDeleteGroup project, Written Test and Class room Presentation are the three assessment which i find helpful to the students. Apart from it examination directed from the institution and the board
ReplyDeleteFollow the strategies of the Board, and also adopt our own way of assessment like project works and oral and written assignments.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and conduct more creative activities for students.
ReplyDeleteAs Secondary level teachers, normally we had never divert from the assessment methods as per the directions of the MBOSE, especially for Class X since external examination is conduct by the Board. But having said that, in the internal assessment 'What' and 'How' we conduct vary from one subject to the other. We subject teachers we planned, designed and implemented according to the need of the subject. For example, just within Social Science, all subjects will not be the same. Desired learning outcomes too vary. Hence we structured our assessment differently based on suitability of the subject. Yes one cannot deny, commonly, the form of assessment is basically standardized test, such as, class test and terminal examination. But besides these, we also assessed using worksheets, project work, assignments, Map work etc., using rubrics at the subject level which are not assigned by the school authorities.
ReplyDeleteThe change that I would prefer to focus will be a shift from overload of stress due examination on students to learning that will be more joyful, engaging and where students are able express freely. Regular assessment at short intervals will be a better options. Assessment that is continuous and comprehensive. Assessment that reflects students growth in learning and with a scope for reflection. Assessment that deviates from rote learning to learning that help students to develop higher thinking order. Assessment that will measure students learning not only from performance during examinations but through multiple evidences. To achieve this it is still an ongoing process that requires further knowledge and learning from the part of us teachers to implement new methods of assessment for holistic development of every student and also need a lot of support from the authorities and parents.
Board instructions followed accordingly.
ReplyDeleteAssessment that deviates from rote learning to learning that help students to develop higher thinking order. Assessment that will measure students learning not only from performance during examinations but through multiple evidences.

ReplyDeleteIn my school , for assessment we usually follow directions given by the board (formally), but to really get the students to understand ,as a teacher I have to plan what type of assessments to be done so that I can easily assess my students. One example is , I explain the topic, say from H.E.,then I asked my students to paste pictures based on the topic and after that I asked my students to explain their pictures. So from this I could assess whether they have understood or not.
ReplyDeleteThe assessments we follow is according to the board ,but we can also used some of our own ideas to fulfill children's potentialities and abilities accordingly.
ReplyDeleteAssessment practices are followed according to the directions of the Board of Education, and we also have our own ways of assessing the students.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and we also use creative activities ,giving assignment, unit test, oral test, class test etc for various levels of teaching and learning.
ReplyDeleteAssessment is made through assignments, unit tests and annual examinations.
ReplyDeleteAssessment is made through assignments, unit tests and annual examinations.
Deletewe follow board exam pattern unit test ,assignment.oral test and project work as the evidences whether the students understood or not
ReplyDeleteAs a secondary school teacher we are bound to follow same traditional method of assessment, where we hardly get chance to explore students ability .
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion I would like to assess students with the method of learning by doing.
We follow the directions of the M.B.O.S.E...we also assess the students in a formative and summative way .Assessment that help students to develop higher thinking order.
ReplyDeleteWe try to follow the direction of the board and we also use creative activities which can develop students capabilities.
ReplyDeleteWe usually assess the students through class test, unit test, terminal examinations, and also through different activities like paper presentation, quiz, open-book exercises.
ReplyDeleteclass test, weekly quiz, assignments and project work are some of the adopted means.
ReplyDeleteAs secondary school we follow the directions of MBOSE ,we also assess the students of both formative and summative types for the benefit of our students and to enabled them to creates their positive thinking for various activities.
ReplyDeleteI follow and abide the rules and regulation given by the MBOSE, the school authorities given a chance to monitor the classroom situation in a good behaviour practices, I always assess the students ability based on formatives and submmative method of teaching
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board that is unit test and main exam
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions given by MBOSE to assess the learning outcome of our students
ReplyDeleteWe as a school follow the assessment practices as directed by the board as well as by the school management. However, from time to time, I from my side use to conduct extra assessments in the form of mind map making, orally asked objective questions and quiz competition.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board, and assess the students through class tests, assignments, projects and examinations
ReplyDeleteWe follow directions given by the board but we also do various internal assessment on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteAs a school we follow the assessment instructed by the state board. But internal assessment is also applied on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteThe First and foremost thing is that we have to abide by the instructions of the Board regarding assessments. Besides we also have internal assessments process in the form of class tests, unit tests, etc.
ReplyDeleteWe assess the students performance by conducting class tests, unit test, assignment, selection exams and pre- board examinations. We can also assess the students performance by conducting group discussions among themselves and prepare semi-presentations in the classroom on a particular topic.
ReplyDeleteOur school follow the directions of the board and for the betterment of the student's performance we used to conduct class test, unit test and give them project work.
ReplyDeleteDirections of the Board is be being followed and other creative methods of assessing are also incorporated.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally we conduct creative activities, assignment, class test etc.
Assessments are also done through quiz, projects, models etc.
We follow the direction of the board using real resources locally available in our village to grasp student's learning.Conduct group work, individual assignment, classtest etc
ReplyDeleteIn our school we follow the direction of the board but we also give internal assessments like class test, unit test, project works and assignments.
ReplyDeleteImplementing SBA in our schools will truly make the learning of the students more meaningful
ReplyDeleteWe at the secondary level use the directives given by the board but at times we do other creative measures touch as conducting quiz ,debates, exhibitions .This is done in order to enhance teaching-learning process and also to develop the skills of the students.
ReplyDeleteAs secondary teachers, we have to follow the instructions given by the board ,side by side formative and summative assessments is done, keeping in view for better performance of the students, projects work, activities so that students can learn by doing .
ReplyDeleteThe three in which assessment practices are done
ReplyDelete1. Class test (depending on the teacher whenever she/he wants to conduct
2. Unit test (the whole school according to the time table)
3. Terminal Examinations
The above assignment practices (no 2 and 3) are planned and implemented by the School authority as well as by the Board.
The alternative way assessment can be conducted during the lesson transaction in order to check students understanding of the lesson through following ways
1. Walking debate
2. Think pair and share
3. Group discussion
4. Flash card
In our school we use formative assessment and other creative activities for students benefit. We also follow the directions of the board which can develop students capacities.
ReplyDeleteThe following are the ways in which formative assessment is made in the classroom:
ReplyDelete1. Before reading a lesson or starting a new chapter in the textbook, i asksask questions
about the topic (for example, a wedding they have attended or their favourite sporting heroes).
2. Whenever iq askw questions or invite students to make suggestions, i
observe who contributes and note the language that they use.
3.Whenstudentsare responding to a lesson (for example, answering comprehension questions) and
working individually, in pairs or in groups, i move around the classroom and note who is
struggling to answer the questions.
4. After teaching some new vocabulary or grammar, i give quick, short test about the words or
grammatical structure (for example, asking students to complete gaps in sentences).
Some of the above are planned by me
Besides the assessment method as instructed by the Education board, regular group discussions in classroom, questioning, analysing the topic and producing possible answers depending on the ability of students, peer assessment among students along with teacher's guidance, regular assessment through unit tests/class tests, etc.
ReplyDeleteConsidering your classroom practices, state three ways in which you conduct several assessment practices? Are these practices planned, designed and implemented by yourself or are these structured at different levels and assigned to you by the school authorities or board of education? Suppose you want to change these existing assessment strategies then suggest an alternative way you plan and implement on your own and it is not directed from the higher authorities.
ReplyDeleteAssessments are done following the standard practices of FA and SA. Formative assessment (FA) is done while the class is in progress in an informal way to assess the learning and to connect ideas as the chapter flows. FA is also implemented in a formal way bot in terms of oral questions and answers and short written tests. These tests are not driven by the administration but rather are designed to satisfy the need of the learning process as the lesson progresses.
Summative assessment (SA), on the other hand is mostly driven by the school administration or the Board.
Children learn in different ways. So assessments should be designed to cater to different learning styles. Written exams are the only prevalent tests at present except for a 30% practical examination. More should be done to encourage other testing styles like oral (particularly in online exams), projects and creative expressions.
Assessment is being done in the form of Formative assessment and Summative Assessment and these are planned from the board and for the lower classes, some are designed by the school authorities. I feel that the type of assessment done in our system will not be able to define a whole development of an individual, as it shows only the marks/percentage obtained in different subjects. It does not show the improvement in personality, behavior, etc. of an individual. So, an assessment which shows all round development of a student is required in our education system.
ReplyDeleteAssessment is being done through test, assignments and exams.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the instructions given by the MBOSE.But we do some extra activities in the classroom like class test, reading test, spelling test, black board activities etc. According to me assessment only through exam is not judgemental because some students are very good in drawing, some in creativity work, some are very vocal and some cannot express in writing. So assessment should include students potential in all other fields too.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the instructions given by the Board and design our teaching module based on formative assessment (class test-written,oral,project,quiz,learning by doing)and summative assessment .
ReplyDeleteWe usually follows the direction of the Board of Education but apart from it, i think it is best if we can conduct creative activities for holistic development of students.
ReplyDeleteBesides the assessment methods as directed by educational board, school based assessment, peer assessment and self assessment of students are being implemented to assess the learning outcomes of students.
ReplyDeleteAs secondary teachers we follow the instruction given by the Board and also by the school administration. Assessment is being done in both formative and summative .
ReplyDeleteBesides the usual assessment method from education board, some unit tests or class tests based assessments, peer assessment and self assessment of students are being conducting hand in hand to assess for learning outcomes of students.
ReplyDeleteAssessment is one of the important part of teaching learning process to get feedback from the students whether they have understood or not. I plan and implement my own Assessment practices to suit the learning capacity of my learners. I used three forms of Assessment for learning and assessment of learning I used brainstorming AFL . A part from this for the formative assessment the techniques that I follow are:-
ReplyDelete1. Questioning the students during the lesson transaction.
2. Conducting test on the topic thought
3. Giving assignment to the students
Apart of these techniques I do follow other techniques depending on the demand of the lessons and situation like d ebate, group discussions, round Robin, think pair share to help students learn their lessons better by grasping the important concepts of lessons and also to apply it in daily life situations.
In our institution we follow the instructions given by the Board and design our teaching module based on formative assessment and summative assessment. Some of the assessments we followed are:
ReplyDelete1. Unit Tests in which the entire school follow a certain time table; Class Tests are conducted as per the teacher's convenience.
2. Terminal exams as well as Board exams.
Besides the above two, we also incorporate our own creative activities to assess the students. To name a few they are— entry and exit slip, brainstorming, rubrics, think pair share, group discussion, quiz, home assignments, project work questioning the students during the class transaction and many others.
We always follow instructions from the board.A is done through class tests, assignments, projects and examinations.
DeleteWe always follow instructions from the board. Assessments always done through class tests, assignments, projects, examinations, etc
ReplyDeleteGenerally, in our school, for assessment, the following practices are followed:
ReplyDelete1. Formative Assessment:
(a) includes school-structured practice namely unit test.
(b) includes self-structured practices such as Quiz, Presentation, activities such as Think -Pair - Share, jigsaw and so on
2. Summative Assessment: This includes Term Examinations which are actually structured and assigned by both the School Authority as well as the Board of the State.
Beside following the guidelines given by board, quiz, group discussion ,short field trip etc are being conducted as per capacity of teche being conducted for Assessment
ReplyDeleteSujata Chakraborty
We focus on the directives given by the board and also chalk out our own calendar, spreading out various types of curricular and Co curricular activities that are carried out
ReplyDeleteduring the scholastic year.
We follow a set pattern of conducting Examinations.
ReplyDeleteOral Test, Unit Test as well as Term Exams in addition assignments and project works are given to the students . We strictly follow the Exam pattern given by the State Board for classes IX and X. The Pandemic has changed the approach of Examination. Online Tests are conducted using Google forms etc. But many challenges are faced when we use the Online mode of Examination.
Individual research, projects, debates and group discussion can be an effective assessment procedure to forgo rote learning.
ReplyDeleteThe type of assessment practices implemented in our school ,one is formative(unit test, class test etc) and the other is summative( final exams as well as Board Exams). I like to suggest that Reasoning and logic based questions should also be incorporated into the evaluation system
ReplyDeleteThe three ways in which an assessment is done by me are:
ReplyDelete1. Daily assessment: This is done on a daily basis whereby a child is given an opportunity to express their ability through mental maths, reasoning test etc.
2. Weekly assessment: A child is given an opportunity to give out their best in their weekly unit test.
3. Summative assessment: This is an assessment done at the end of the year.
So, I can say that an assessment in our school is both structured by our school authority and also structured by me as a teacher.
It's important to use different assessment methods for different students based on their abilities.
ReplyDeleteWe followed the direction from the board and also we use our own creative activities
ReplyDeleteFollow the instructions given by the board.
ReplyDeleteWe as teacher we follow the instruction given by the board and also we use our own creativity according to the capabilities of the students.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions given BY the board and spread out our whole activities curricular and co-curricular activities adding our innovative ideas to assess them to semister/unit wise
ReplyDeleteMostly assesment are conducted to increase the performance of students like giving them project works, test and other creative activities example group discussions, quiz, etc. All these activities imbibe a sense of competition among students and moreover it increases their knowledge.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the instructions given by the Board as well as Assessment is done through unit test, class test , project work.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the instructions given by the Board as well as Assessment is done through unit test, class test and project work.
ReplyDeleteWe as the teacher s of secondary level we mostly follow the directions given by the board but we also give certain assignment of their standard on our own.
ReplyDeleteState Board instructions and guidelines are being strictly followed.Other type of Assessment is also incorporated for the overall good performance by the students.
ReplyDeleteIn formative assessment at classroom normally I ask questions before the topic starts and during class conversation with students on particular topic.Planned oral or written objectives and thought based questions can be prepared.Questions papers during Exam is prepared according to Board format. But, in classroom assessment can be done by using Rubrics like synthetic, analytic, singular point.Tier assessment can be done by tracking the evidences of performance level.
ReplyDeleteWe follow the directions of the board and we use creative activities like class test to enable the students learn better
ReplyDeleteIn our school, the assessment practices followed are:
ReplyDeleteFormative Assessment:
(i) Oral test,class-work,home-work,etc to assess the students during the lesson.
(ii) Class test,Presentation, Project work, quiz, some activities to assess the students after the lesson.
Summative Assessment:Unit tests as assigned by the school authority and Terminal Examinations which are actually structured and assigned by the School Authority as well as by the Board of School education.
We mostly conduct assessment practices in two ways. These are formative and summative assessment and fluidity and proper functioning of the system we always follow the directions given by the board. However, this does not mean that we cannot try to use our creative activities to see and assess the overall learning process of the students.
