    1. Peer assessment can be used very well in older students. For example, in one of my classes i divided the students into different groups and assign a leader. Each group had to read a passage and imagine how they would handle the situation in that particular instance. All groups were able to give feedback and share what they think of the other groups performance. This builds team work, confidence, create a safe space for students to learn from each other and also trust. Students also feel that they can contribute to each others learning.

  3. The moment when I realized and used peer assessment as a teaching technique is by telling the students not to bog down to peer pressure. The theme or task was when I told to recite few lines of the poem of Class X literature books and instruct any 5 students( randomly) to recite those lines and letting them to know the basic differences between the pronunciation and intonation of each students which will be unique and pointing out the differences in pronunciation because of technical and phonetics issues. The task is not to demean any students but to make them refine when it comes to dictation. The subject is English literature of Class X and the topic is the poem " The Gift Of India" by Sarojini Naidu. The theme is to inculcate the basics of poetry reading and the learning outcome is overwhelming as they( the students) can read the poem loudly with proper intonation and the use of basic phonetics wherevI supervise and correct their diction as and when needed. It is quite a challenging task as many of the students are introvert and has the phobia of not been able to speak fluently because our school is a linguistic minority school and English Langauge is not spoken to the T. Peer pressure is ominous because of diverse academic grades. AS a Teacher, I am also facing challenges to reach out to the whole classes in the given stipulated time- frame. But, that does not hinders me from promulgation the innovate ways to ease peer pressure in the classrooms.Implement strategy is very simple and in accordance with the natural way of teaching- learning outcome.

  19. Class XII, English- I divided students into different groups, assigned different paragraphs of a text to each group. The task was for all the students in the groups to read the paragraph then write their own points for a review. The leader was to collect the points written and the whole group was to sit together and compile the points for a review on the given paragraph. Each student was automatically involved in assessing each other’s work and pointing out mistakes and gaps before perfecting their review. This was an excellent peer assessment technique; it was a fun task for the students and definitely not a challenge at all.

Learners select a group leader to compile and rank the reviews made within the groups.
Learners were on task immediately with enthusiasm and assessing each other's ideas by listening, apprehending and resolving matters within their own groups to put up a perfect 9 diamond ranking before the class. It was fun watching and facilitating throughout the session.

I had made use of it during the Alternative English class for the 10+2 students, making the students to enact on any part of the play and to give their opinion and feedback on each other. Not was it only entertaining but it did help the students to concentrate and to learn more since they had to take part and are responsible to read and know the play before participating. Some did overcome their fear, some manage to enhance their acting skills and overall it was a learning platform for the students to improve and perform better.

  32. Peer assessment is possible only for recall and recollect type questions and not possible to test critical thinking and analysis. I have tried this method for grade 7 and 8 students of history and grade 6 students of english. Dictated some spellings and passages to them, then made their peers correct their papers by checking the answers from the text during their English class. Also conducted a test on objective type questions of history and made the students correct the answers of their peers. One advantage of peer assesment is that, the students involvement is to the maximum since they really get excited to check the papers of their peers and in the process learn from their mistakes, etc.

Obviously,I sometimes applied0 peer assessment as a technique in teaching learning process. The students are divided into groups of 6.A leader was appointed and a topic was assigned to each group. Example, for Science, class 9, topic_gravitational pull of objects. Why is a stone thrown upwards come back to the earth? Each group was allowed to deliberate on the topic and was asked to write the principles involved along with diagram.20 minutes was the allotted time. At the end of the allotted time, each group was asked to submit their findings and their conclusions related to the topic. The answers of each group were then assessed carefully. After doing this exercise, students were able to understand the gravitational pull of objects. Each object pulls to its centre. Smaller objects have less force of gravity whereas bigger objects have stronger force of gravity. Besides, some groups had to be explained again and again so that they will be able to grasp the topic.

  79. Whether peer assessment is formative or summative, it is best to provide guidelines for the evaluation. This way, everyone is on the same page and we can gather precise, concise, and direct feedback that will prove useful for decision-making in the future.

This method is used frequently in my Mathematics classes and students actively take part.

Peer assessment is a good way for individuals to get familiar with constructive criticism. Many times, we find it easier to deal with feedback and criticism when it comes from someone or people we are familiar with.

Due to the familiarity that exists between peers, they can provide meaningful insights into each other’s behaviors, competencies, and experiences.

Peer assessment improves the skills and output of the evaluator. Assessing the performance of others improves their cognitive abilities as well as equips them with other life skills.

It helps to develop critical thinking and assessment skills.

When peer assessment is done in the right way, it can improve team bonding.

It is more efficient and effective when we need to review a large number of students.

Peer assessment promotes deep learning; especially in research.

  129. Peer assessments boost the confidence of students, encourages healthy discussions and helps them develop their communication skills.
Students learn a lot from their peers so using peer assessment increases opportunities for learning. This encourages students to take ownership of their learning and be more involved in the learning process. It makes the assessment process more clear. As teachers we must manage it carefully with planning and consideration. I used peer assessment while conducting class test for the students of class ten in Mathematics. The topic is Surface Areas and Volumes. I asked the students to write the formulae of the curved surface areas, total surface areas and volumes of the solids they have learnt. After the test, their papers are exchanged among themselves for correction, where one mark is given for each correct answer. Their papers are collected and double-checked that they are marked properly.
The challenge faced here is that it is time consuming. Also, students are not experienced in assessing each other. They may cheat in collaboration for group assignments. Fairness may not be maintained because extroverted students can be usually be marked higher and quieter students got marked down.
