ReplyDeleteIn our State, Meghalaya there are various initiatives which are taken up by various NGO's and the government for promoting education by giving Scholarship to the deserving students, organising programmes for promoting and safeguarding the environment etc.

ReplyDeleteIn 2020, the government of Meghalaya in collaboration with CR Projects, started an online learning portal for classes KG to X. This is a free e-learning portal that ensures continuity in student learning in the midst of the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteThe Education Department, Govt of Meghalaya has signed an MOU with DDK Shillong ana AIR for broadcasting lessons to students designed by the Dept and focus on hard spots if the School Curriculum. Students can tune in to AIR Shillong, Tura or Jowai for these lectures.

Previously the state government provides free tablet to every class x and xii students after successful result of their examination.So this method should be follow in our present government by providing affordable tablet to each and every secondary and higher secondary students especially those coming from poor economically background so that they can go along with the need of time.So i feel other states in the country should follow the same.

ReplyDeleteThe State has digitize the Textbook of the State Board Syllabus in Diksha Portal for all the Students of Meghalaya to access through the Website and Mobile app. All this is done with DERT Shillong along with SRGs and various school teachers of Meghalaya.
ReplyDeletePreserving forests (as sacred groves) is an unique example which is practiced in our state to educate learners about the importance, usage and conservation of natural environment as a part of environmental education.
ReplyDeleteStudents should be taken for a visit to the sacred groves and be interacted with the communities who looked after these forests.
In my state in general and my school in particular, there are several seminars and awareness programme with career counseling for the personality development of the learners. The Govt of Meghalaya has been instrumental in starting several educative seminars and one such was allowing the students of Class X to witness the proceedings of the Working of the Legislative Assembly during the Assembly Session so that the learners can see and learn how the proceeding of the Assembly Session works and also witness the live proceedings of the Question Hour and how Bills are passed in The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.It was a first of its kind which was overwhelmingly acknowledged by all people of the society because students are the future leaders of the state and the nation. This type of noble endeavor is certainly a role model for other states who have not conducted such programs. Kudos to the Government of Meghalaya.

ReplyDeleteI've been serving my institution for past 25 years & being in a govt. school i always had the opportunity to serve the students from grassroot levels & underprivileged sections.
ReplyDeleteSomething which i found to be very unique in my institution was that most of the senior teachers would serve the students voluntarily even on vacations & holidays. I learnt it too from them & tried to continue it for almost 18 years but later on i gave up.
Preservation of sacred groves, caves and places that are unknown and still under exploration and the species that are rare and on the verge of extinction by punishing the culprits who try to capture and destroy.

4. Convey a sense of passion for new ideas and inspire to contribute, for example, in our State we always promote traditional materials especially cane works which are eco- friendly and at the same time enhance in business.
So basically traditional practices are golden practices which we must all adhere and imbibe as lately we have digress from it. Accept the old age tradition and at the same time be innovative.

ReplyDeleteThe Government of Meghalaya has started the online learning portal in collaboration with CR Projects for class KG to X such as E- learning portal,Digital Content Portal.
ReplyDeleteThe Education Department,government of Meghalaya has also signed an MoU with DDK ,Shillong and AIR for broadcasting lessons to students
DERT is currently working with PLCs from different districts for content creation,curriculum mapping,etc.
In Meghalaya the government has started E-learning portal, and many more work to upgrade the education

ReplyDelete1. Distribution of tablets to all the students of class XII was a right track that was taken by the government of Meghalaya.
2. Distribution of exercise books and textbooks to deserving under - privileged students both in urban and especially in rural areas some NGOs.
The above two can be an example to other states and UTs.
One super innovative practice in my state is bamboo drip irrigation.

ReplyDeleteDuring the pandemic the education department of our state conduct professional development for teachers on how to teach _ reach students using various on _ line platforms. So that students learning outcome is some how improved. Awareness programs were also organised by the teachers to make parents aware of the safety of both parents and students.

ReplyDeleteAn innovative practice in my state is that we preserve the environment. So, the air quality is better compared to the other states. There is a strong sense of community too.
ReplyDeleteEmotional developmental programs are very necessary for children since emotional intelligence have been very at the apex . We have seen the behavior of children today emotions are playing with them we need to keep them stable. Their own emotions are driving them crazy eg. Dropping out from school , broken families, suicides, early marriages, etc all these have been the factors which are barriers for the all around development.

This I believe is one of the main reason for having a strong, united , happy and progressive society. Thus, it would be nice if this be an example for our fellow Indians in the rest of the country.

ReplyDelete1. Environment friendly food festival wherein everything used from products to packaging was biogradable. Stalls sold environment friendly products and cloth/paper bags were used.
2. Cleaning Drive in and around the school by creating a social responsibility in each student to keep surroundings clean.

ReplyDeleteThe study I conducting on innovative practice namely IASF (intelligent advisory system for farmer) and EFCs(interprise facilitation centre) in Meghalaya with an attempt to identify the innovative agricultural extention practice in the state which are more effective and reachable to the grass root level.

ReplyDeleteIn my school, to remove the fear of math and science, annual Science and Math exhibitions are organised. Also, scientists at the national level are invited to the school to deliver popular lectures to the students of topics relevant to the students.
In our state during the pandemic The Government of Meghalaya has started an online learning portal in collaboration with CR projects for classes KG to X to ensure continuity in students’ studies even as they are faced with an inability to carry out normal learning activities in a school/classroom environment.
