    8. We had to seek for an online mode of teaching & learning during this pandemic.
We tried to reach almost all the students from higher secondary section of our school.
This was a major change in the teaching/learning process.
Students have tried their best to cope up with the situation but some of them had severe network issues & some had no access to proper gadgets due to poverty.
I can only say that we may start with a blended mode of teaching so that no student is left behind.

Some of the changes I have introduced are setting different time schedules for online classes, recording voice clips related to Study materials etc..

  15. in the course of the Covid 19 Pandemic, we resorted to online classes, we made use of platforms such as watsapp and Google meet etc. As a teacher I enthusiastically started making videos and framing assignments for the students and sharing it with them. However, the most disheartening part is when students don't have the means or facilities to recieve and earn from what we have prepared for them.

  16. The only means to get in touch with the students was through Whatsapp. Many students were still left unconnected as they did not even have a moblie phone to access WhatsApp too. Most of the teachings has been through direct messages, audios and videos. Could not even use google meet.

  18. Throughout the pandemic, we remained in touch with our students mainly through Whatsapp platform. Often at times google meet is used but many students find it hard to stay online during the whole duration of live google meet class due to network issues. We shared videos, assignments and study through the various groups created in Whatsapp amongst teachers and students.
The major change in my teaching was creating videos for my lessons and sharing links from certain platforms that corelate with the learner's lessons.
Creating the videos was time consuming because of lack of knowledge to do so. But they felt productive as we could insert images or videos to aid our teaching. But when asked for feedback about them from the learners, some would say they don't have space to download them, some don't even watch, others don't have the correct format for opening such videos. Although it is somewhat helpful, it lacks the basic interactive session that we get from face to face interactions in classroom.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Using blended mode, mobile learning through platforms, such as wats app, telegram, Google forms for check in attendance etc.
Personal phone call followups is made to students who are not online so as to check in on their learning progress.

  20. We conducted online classes via video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom. Google classroom is being maintained for the students to be able to access the reading materials and notes regarding the subject. But sometimes due to network issues we also maintain whatsapp group to send study materials for student and videos. We also use to record powerpoint presentation for various explanation on the chapters and send them to students via whatsapp group. The experience i got from the online teaching is the knowledge of how to use these various platforms to conduct online class and how to manage the class for the students to be able to understand and give them that classroom feel via online classes.

At most sometimes I took the students to meet and interact with bankers to see the working of the money market.but 2019, 2020 being confined to our respective homes, we had to meet online through Google meet for interaction. After that if students needed extra help in sums either an extra class is taken later in the evening or I take a video of how the sum is being done and sent it to the students group on whatspp.

  78. During COVID-19 pandemic, we remain in touch with students through online whatsapp platform. We share self prepared videos, notes, youtube link, information and images related to a concern subject on whatsapp.
The major changes that introduced in teaching during COVID-19 pandemic is the change from traditional or regular way of teaching to innovative way of teaching by using new technology. We learned about various online educational platform that would help the students in learning. Besides all these innovative ways of teaching, online classes are not favourable due to poor network connectivity, students can't afford to recharge data every month, they can't afford to buy smartphones. Students doesn't learn 100% from these online platform and also it's a time consuming for us teachers as we have to create videos then recheck after that compressed so that students could download at small MB. Therefore I would say that yes, there is a positive changes as well as disadvantage for the students as well as teachers.

Some students were reluctant to ask inquiries, therefore a Google form was design to submit thier doubts or questions, not making it mandatory to mention their names. This allowed pupils to clarify their doubts and gain more response from them. The next, self-scoring test in their chapters was conducted in the form of MCQs (10 - 20 questions) using google form. Seeing their results strengthen their morality by looking even farther into the chapter. The test page also has the right answers and brief information to assist students to comprehend the correct responses.

Daily online classes are taken through WhatsApp, lesson plans are framed and given to students for every chapter and lessons, self explanatory videos are sent to the students, you tube videos are sent to students relevant to the chapters for further understanding and instructional practice of read-aloud to ensure and encourage students to read their lessons. Apart from learning what is included in syllabus, our aim as teachers is to reach out to students who face difficulties with the online learning and other problems to help them during such challenges whether be it social or moral problems. The online teaching- learning process will continue to break through barriers and ensure learning will continue.

This change has been very difficult for students of my school since they have no proper access to network connectivity. However inspite of this every effort was made to stay connected through whatsapp by sharing self made explanation videos, notes , phone calls for clarification, assessment through Google forms, Xerox notes for students who cannot afford smart phone

  125. During this pandemic as we all know we have to get in touch with the students through a social media platform like whatsApp, google meet, and zoom app whereby the students themselves experience a new way of learning which is quite different from the normal class room teaching. Moreover, it has brought tremendous changes in the way the teacher tries to impart the knowledge so as to enable the students to achieve a positive learning outcome.

The major changes that has been introduced in our teaching learning process is that suddenly we are switch to digital learning from the traditional mode. It is not easy to cope up with the new strategy due to poor network & regular power cut in Meghalaya. It has been observed by us that Motivation which is a integral part of classroom teaching is a missing link in the new technology based learning

  144. Since physical meetings are not possible, the only means through which we remain in touch with our students is through the mobile phones. Information, instructions, explanations, etc., are sent to students through Whatsapp. Some students do seek further explanation and clarification either through phone calls or whatsapp messages.
Using the modern gadgets is itself a major shift from the usual practice. It is realised that it is not so difficult use them and they would be very helpful if they could be used in a normal class situation. But as as of now, during this time of the pandemic, many students do not get much benefit from them for some reason or the other.

  145. Using the internet is the only method to keep in touch with our students during this pandemic. To make notes, record videos, give presentations, and so on, we utilise our phones and computers. We communicate with our students through common applications such as Whatsapp groups, Google Meet, and Zoom, among others.

Teaching online is one of the most significant changes we've had to make in our teaching...
To hold a student's attention in a video of a few minutes duration, we must make numerous modifications in our teaching technique.

We must employ a variety of computer software and phone applications to ensure that our students can read the content correctly, hear our instructions, and thus understand our lesson...

  146. During Covid-19 pandemic, teaching and learning process have seen many changes. Since there were no classroom teachings, we had to remain in touch with the students mainly through Google Classroom, Google Meet, Whatsapp etc. Important notes were given in google classroom and same were discussed elaborately in google meet. Short videos were prepared on different sctivities to make the subject matter easy and intetesting. Learners also were preparing video clips on activities done by them.
Self learning process is initiated through videos and audios, guidances were given whenever needed.

Major changes brought in my teaching is to introduce many self learning activities, preparing videos on a topic and peer group interaction through open quiz and debate on zoom app / google meet.

Learning is a continuous process hence self learning is going on to modify teaching skills to inculcate subject interest among learners.

Group discussion, text messages and phone calls is made available to students to clarify their doubts.
